Welcome to the new students at AU Viborg

Two pallets stacked on top of each other served as the podium when Rector Brian Bech Nielsen and the Mayor of Viborg Municipality, Ulrik Wilbek, today welcomed the new students at AU Viborg.

The halls of AU Viborg were buzzing with life as the new students of Animal Science, Plant and Food Science, and Veterinary Medicine arrived for the second day of their new student life and the official welcome at AU Viborg.

“It has been incredibly exciting and overwhelming. It’s great to meet others who share the same interests as me, and I look forward to learning a lot about animals,” says Lea Baun, who has just started her studies in Veterinary Medicine. She continues:

“AU Viborg is still very raw and new, but I think it has great potential. It will be nice to take some good walks during breaks and know that you are close to everything you will be working with.”

While Wednesday’s program included academic presentations, social activities, and a campus tour, today continued with an introduction to student life and socialising with new classmates. At lunch, the new students were joined by Rector Brian Bech Nielsen and the Mayor of Viborg Municipality, Ulrik Wilbek, who officially welcomed the new students. Dean Eskild Holm Nielsen from the Faculty of Technical Sciences also participated in the festivities:

“Today is just the beginning of a fantastic journey that will lay the foundation for the next 50 years. We are developing AU Viborg from a research unit into an integrated campus for research and education. I am sure that the students will be an asset to the research environment, as they will provide researchers with talents and new perspectives,” says Eskild Holm Nielsen.
