Eight innovative green projects from Aarhus University receive support from the Green Development and Demonstration Programme (GUDP)

The GUDP has pledged funding of DKK 104 million to a total of 19 projects to strengthen the green development of the food sector. Eight of these are projects at the Faculty of Technical Sciences at AU.

The Green Development and Demonstration Programme (GUDP) is a programme under the the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries of Denmark, and it is administered by the Danish Agricultural Agency. Twice a year, they grant a funding pool to development projects within the entire food sector.

"We’ve selected 19 innovative projects that can help pave new paths for the food industry and solve some of society's environmental and climate challenges. At the same time, we’re helping to launch projects that support the ambitions in the new political agreements within agriculture, the sea, fisheries and aquaculture," says the chair of the GUDP board, Mikael Thinghuus.

No less than eight projects from the Faculty of Technical Sciences at Aarhus University will receive funding from the GUDP, a total of more than DKK 65 million. Eskild Holm Nielsen, dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences says about the awards:

"It's extremely impressive that eight of the 19 projects originate from agricultural and food research at Aarhus University, and this clearly demonstrates our strength in this area! The Dean's Office is both humbled and proud, and we thank you for your hard work."
