My research centers on genetic engineering and the modelling of human disorders with special focus on cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. By conducting studies at both the cellular and whole-organism levels, we aim to deepen our understanding of the underlying disease mechanisms and explore potential strategies for their prevention.
I teach Medical Genetics and Internal Medicine for students in Molecular Medicine. My goal with the teaching is to combine an understanding of the theoretical background with relevant research within the subject area.
