Profile

Dr Andrea Franza is Assistant Professor of Geotechnical Engineering. His activity spans the areas of geotechnical and structural engineering. For this, he made use of reduced-scale physical testing, field monitoring, analytical and numerical modelling.

He is currently Associate Editor for the journal Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology. On behalf of the Danish Geotechnical Society, he is a nominated member of the Technical Committee 204 (TC204) Underground Construction ISSMGE.

  • Data-driven monitoring and analytics for linear geotechnical infrastructure
  • Deep foundations subjected to complex external loads in offshore applications
  • The response of buildings, existing tunnels, pile foundations to excavations and subsidence
  • Underground structures for energy storage
