My research focuses on studying the welfare, behaviour and physiology of livestock animals. Most of my projects aim to quantify the effects of husbandry procedures such as castration or weaning on the physiological and emotional responses of pigs, including via the use of sensors and acoustic analyses. I am also highly interested in developing, validating and critically reviewing new methodologies of recording welfare and behaviour.
