Our brains consist of more than 100 billion cells, which communicate with each other in complicated networks. But how does the brain help us to learn new skills and to navigate in an increasingly complex world? And why do these abilities sometimes get weaker with age?
Leif Østergaard is both a physicist and a doctor, and he will tell us about the way researchers in recent decades have achieved a number of breakthroughs in our understanding of the brain – thanks to theoretical physics and innovations such as advanced scanner technology. We now have extensive knowledge that benefits patients every day.
The lecture provides insight into the latest knowledge about the brain, its function, and the causes of the brain diseases that researchers are currently working to prevent.
