Researcher in orthopaedic nursing with a focus on the impact of nursing interventions on patient outcomes. My research includes quality of care including development of quality indicators, as well as the development and psychometric evaluation of measurement instruments for assessing patients’ symptoms, needs and care pathways. The aim is to strengthen nurses’ postoperative observations and clinical decision-making, improve patient care, and reduce unwarranted variation in clinical practice.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes dialogue and research-based learning. I facilitate students' knowledge acquisition and development with the goal of them becoming self-regulated and confident professionals in their field. I teach epidemiological methods, including registry research and methods for quality development and monitoring. I supervise Ph.D. students and master's students.
