Research

End-of-pipe solutions have always been central to my research. By combining advanced field techniques with experimental and modeling approaches, I work to optimize nitrogen and phosphorus removal under real-world conditions. Recently, my focus has expanded to exploring wetland systems and their biogeochemical dynamics. Additionally, I design and manage project databases to ensure high data quality and reproducibility throughout the research process.

Teaching activities

I teach on the Wetland PhD course and contribute to both undergraduate and graduate education, including the international master’s programme in Soils and Global Change (IMSOGLO).

Collaborations

Solid national and international collaborations have been established over the years, including an active partnership with the University of Calabria (UNICAL), where I completed my master’s degree.

I also maintain strong collaborations with other European research institutions as I am part of the coordinating team for two major Horizon Europe projects: Wet Horizons and NBS4Drought.
