I study chemical exposures and their health effects. With a master’s degree in molecular medicine and a PhD in Health Sciences, I am particularly interested in the molecular mechanisms linking between chemical exposure and health effects as well as the effects of real-life chemical mixtures. Using toxicological, molecular and epidemiological methods, we contribute to a better understanding of mechanisms and effects of chemicals and mixtures.
As an assistant professor, I am involved in several research projects together with my colleagues, including the larger EU project Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC), which aims to develop next-generation chemical risk assessment to protect human health and the environment. Additionally, I have been involved in follow-ups of the Greenlandic birth cohort ACCEPT, where we will begin the second follow-up of the children (9-11 years old) in 2025.
