The Evolution and comparative multi-Omics Lab at the Center for Quantitative Genetics and Genomics (QGG) focuses on studying the evolutionary and genetic mechanisms that shape complex traits in plants, with the aim of understanding crop evolution and supporting crop improvement. We combine bioinformatics, evolutionary biology, and multi-omics approaches to investigate how gene duplication, gene loss, pleiotropy, and functional redundancy contribute to functional innovation and adaptation.
